In the first article on this topic, we talked about the psychological factors that stop us from finding our style, and in the second article - the drawing skills that help us to express ourselves in the art.
Today, I want to talk about something different. It is about our personal growth.
For most people, the grass is grass but for the artist could be countless things - a palette of green nuances, monster fur, a play of light and darkness, a world of wild lines etc.
Next time when you are in the park – explore the grass. It would be interesting how you see it different from the others; explore the trees - their shape, color, movement. Watch the clouds and how they contrast with the sky, blending in one other or how the colors are changing when the sun is hiding. If a cat is slipping next to you, study its body posture and its shadow. What is the real color of your hand when it is on a green table and when it is on a red chair – are there variations? This is only a small example for the importance of exploring the world around us. When we open our heart to experience - all that information is like a treasure collected and it could turn into new ideas.
Ready for Adventures, Smokini
If you feel that nothing impresses you - make a change; go on a journey! I remember that last spring I felt so exhausted; nothing was exciting me; I stopped painting. That`s the reason I decided to rest for a week. I took a trip to southern Bulgaria.
Nature was sending out all its fragrances, the birds were singing during the day, crickets in the night, and the aroma of the rose valley was pouring like a sea. I began to relax more and more.In the morning, I was working in the garden and in the afternoon I was reading ; in the evening I enjoyed watching the stars and had a quite dinner. And the miracle became. My mind and my heart had been rested; new ideas began to pour in me like rain in the desert.

Another thing is about your inner voice. To have opinion can lead to a conflict situation, but this is also a way to find your soulmates and to be part of a community. The voice that provokes the crowd is the voice which is remembered. Stepping out of your comfort zone to open the conversation on an important topics is challenging but very important stage of developing your own style.
An example of a people that stands for their believes are Van Gogh – drawing how light is moving, Paul Cézanne – searching for geometry in nature, Tamara de Lempicka – urban life and the woman in it, Goya – ugly face of the war, Sandro Botticelli – an eternity love , the list is long.
If all my words must be deleted, I want only these few last sentences to stay.
Actually, the style of every artist is the essence of his soul. So feed your soul in an open air, with love and respect, with truth and far from the fear. Remember, the only original of yourself in the world is you.
Yours,
Smokini
