In article 1 (How to find your style in drawing - Part 1), we have touched upon two steps that will help us find our own style. In summary - failing is a way to learn and also making copies of different paintings shows us new ways of expression.
The third step is to learn the basics of drawing. All classic rules for perspective, light, proportions or composition are crucial to master fine arts. This will build in you confidence that you have a stable foundation; that you're someone who has all instruments to raise his own voice.
Here comes the question: what is the way to learn the classic rules? Now more than ever, there are different ways to do this - through video tutorials, articles, books, webinars, or going to art school. Whatever option you choose, just keep in mind several points.

Be constant, be aware of your speed to accomplish a task and find your mentor.
These three things are very important!
* Be constant.
If you work constantly, even with small steps, you will improve. This is the way you can develope your style, through the time. Drawing every day for 20 minutes for a year is better that drawing from morning to night for several weeks.
* Be aware of your speed.
Well, this rule is universal. Draw constantly but give your mind break. Give your imagination freedom to flow. Fatigue stops your speed.
*Teacher -you need a mentor. I`m pretty serious here! You need a person who has passed through what you are going through. A person who has enough knowledge to gives you guidance to grow. A person who recognizes your power and drives you in that direction to expand your talent.

The fourth step is to have a tradition of analizing your mistakes. During the drawing process or even when you finish a work - take time to find the most common mistake you make. It could be in composition or managing the basic tone of the objects or maybe in shadows. When you focus on a problem - you will put extra effort to overcome it and move on to the next one. At the beginning, we make many mistakes, so focusing on just one problem prevents from distraction.
Of course, how to correct our mistakes and get improve is a matter of time and a matter of knowledge. Contact me if you need my help here:smmokini@gmail.com
There are more steps so I will make another article soon. We will meet in Part 3 and by then I will give you a task. Draw a ball and a cube with a pencil and make them realistic. Send me the photo of the painting by email or as a post comment. I will be happy to be your mentor for that exercise. Keep the good fight!
Yours,
Smokini
